I've known quite a few people getting hooked after meeting on the internet. Not that I recommend the internet for dating. It's hard enough to be selective when you know the person in real time.

I too know people who met through the internet. It seems to be a successful way to meet for some people.
My conclusion though is, I won't be trying it again. Lakeviewer made a good point.
